Due to COVID-19, Brooke is operating a remote learning model in the fall of 2020. During this difficult time, our community has come together to support student learning in new and inspiring ways.

Our mission of providing an excellent education

Requires Everyone in our Community to Play a Role

Our Teachers Are Challenging and Supporting Students Virtually

Beginning this summer, Brooke staff developed elements of effective virtual instruction, which outline the tools and practices that guide how we translate our great teaching practices to a remote environment. In group instruction, teachers are presenting rigorous content that requires students to think. In individual and small group sessions, teachers get to know and support students holistically.

Our Families are Fundamental to our Students' and Schools' Success

At Brooke, families always play a critical role as a partner in their child’s education. This year is different – now they are creating student workspaces at home, providing multiple meals each day, troubleshooting technical issues, and checking in more often with teachers remotely. Our staff continue to integrate family feedback into our plans for individual students and our school as a whole.

Our Larger Community is Donating Funds for Families in Need

We were so grateful for the support of our first Community Relief Fund last spring, which provided $500 grants to nearly 300 Brooke families struggling to meet basic needs. Unfortunately, many Brooke families are still struggling with job loss, illness, or lost loved ones. We hope you'll consider contributing to our second round of relief funds this holiday season.

Our Schools are Planning and Preparing for the Future

Even as we tackle the immediate challenges of remote teaching and learning, our leadership is recruiting staff for the 2021-2022 school year, executing facility improvement projects, and planning for a return to in-person instruction as soon as it's safe to do so. Whether you are an aspiring or experienced teacher, we hope you'll join our efforts.

After last spring, the administrators took a lot of parent feedback. They were clearly open to it, because it was obvious that they incorporated our feedback into planning this year. We felt heard as parents, and I can see how teachers are still challenging my kids with their lessons this fall.
