Whether it's happening in-person or remotely, Brooke is committed to ensuring every child is supported and challenged by their teacher. Our teachers receive a great deal of professional development (summer training, weekly observations, and regular team meetings) so they can improve their teaching practices and learn new things alongside their scholars.

Staff Diversity is a Priority
We believe great teachers of color have a unique contribution to make in the ways they serve students, uphold a culture of achievement, and build strong staff culture. It is important for our scholars (93% of whom identify as Black or Latinx) to have a diverse staff with whom they can share some of their lived experiences and to have successful mentors who look like them.

Thoughtful Response to Crises
This summer, we engaged staff and families in surveys and conversations before deciding to continue with remote learning, putting in place many improvements to meet our community's needs. We also conducted two rounds of relief fund grants, raising and distributing $350,000 in cash aid to our most vulnerable families. Our families, students, and staff will continue to inform our decisions.
