In late January, we celebrated our 100th day of school. Our scholars (and teachers!) sported costumes showing how they imagined aging gracefully. Now in February, we are beginning to think about next year. We are already looking forward to welcoming new students, families, and staff to our community. Are you interested in:

What are some benefits of being part of
The Brooke Community

Great Teaching
In every classroom, across all four Brooke schools and all grades K-12, we prioritize great teaching. We define great teaching as ensuring that every student is both known and challenged. It also means teachers structure lessons to put the thinking on kids. Only through great teaching can we make sure our students benefit from academic rigor in a warm, supportive environment.

Great Culture
Brooke's schools are characterized by a culture of achievement, which encourages all students to identify as achievers. We work to create school cultures that actively and intentionally counter systemic racism. Our culture of achievement draws on studentsโ inherited wisdom and legacy of achievement, passed on to them by their families, ancestors, and communities and ensures students' identities are reflected in the curriculum.

Great Relationships
Knowing and challenging every single child requires a meaningful partnership with our students' families. Each Brooke teacher begins developing relationships with their children's families before the first day of school. We are committed to involving parents and guardians in their scholars learning, which means reaching out with highlights as well as growth areas all year long.

Great Compensation
Over the years, Brooke has designed a compensation system to reward teaching excellence and a commitment to staying in the classroom. In 2022 and again in 2023, Brooke introduced significant salary increases across positions to ensure we are competitive and can attract and retain the great teachers our students deserve.

Commitment to Diversity
With 93% of Brooke students identifying as Black or Latinx, we prioritize uprooting racism through academics, equipping our students with tools to advocate for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive future. Given the fact that our students identify overwhelmingly as Black and Latinx, we are most concerned with the critical shortage of Black and Latinx teachers. We have increased staff diversity such that now more than half of our employees identify as people of color and we remain committed to continuing this important work.
