Mass Receives 21 proposals to open new charter schools Brooke is featured as one of the charter school networks that applied to open more schools in the future. The competition to open new charter schools in Boston will be stiff. The four proposals, three pitched by existing charter schools, collectively seek to serve more than 1,300 students.
