concentration. Ms. Auritt has worked
with children in New Hampshire and in Pennsylvania.

Ms. Ayer joined the EWBCS staff last year as art teacher for all of our
kindergarten through 8th grade students. Ms.
Ayer has taught art to students in
elementary and middle schools in Maine
and in Chelsea, Mass.

Mr. Carey
joins the EWBCS staff this year to

the school's music program. Mr. Carey has
extensive experience in world music and has been teaching music to the

in the Bay Area in California

Ms. Daniels
is joining the Brooke staff last year as a second grade teacher. Ms.
Daniels moved to Boston
from Atlanta,
where she taught
3rd and 5th grade. Ms.
Daniels is a 2005 Teach For America corps member.
Emily Dvorin
Math Specialist

Mrs. Dvorin joined the Brooke family in 2005 as a fifth grade math
teacher. As the elementary math specialist, she works with
elementary school students and
teachers and writes all of our original math curriculum. Mrs.
Dvorin taught
fourth grade for four years at Canaan Elementary School in New
Hampshire, and before that, she taught third grade at the Kelly School
in Chelsea, MA.

Forrest

Alex Forrest joined our staff last year
as a second
grade associate teacher, having recently graduated from the University
of
Michigan in Ann Arbor. This year, Mr.
Forrest will serve as a third grade classroom teacher.

Sabrina
Forte is a recent graduate of Harvard
College, where she concentrated in History and Literature.
During college, Ms. Forte directed the Refuge
Youth Summer Enrichment program and served as a leader in Harvard Model
Congress.

Jenn Gondek joined the Brooke family last

first grade teacher, and this year, she will be serving as our

Kyle Kennedy
is moving back to her hometown of Boston this year to join the
Brooke community. Ms. Kennedy has been
teaching first grade in the Bronx for the last two years in a New York

Public School. Ms. Kennedy is a 2006

Katie Lee is joining

after graduating from the Risk and Prevention Program at the Harvard

School of Education. Ms. Lee taught
first grade for two years in New York City. Ms.

Mathieu

Elza Mathieu is joining
the Brooke team this year
after spending several years working with the Cambridge Camping
Association. Ms. Mathieu also worked
with children with special needs at the New England Center for Children. Ms. Mathieu is a native of the Boston area
and is excited to work with our youngest students this year.

Hopkins Meyer

Alice
Hopkins Meyer joined our staff last year as a
kindergarten teacher, and this year she will be moving up with her
students to
first grade. Ms. Meyer has previously
taught first grade in the New Orleans area and served as a program
director for
Teach For America. Ms. Meyer served as a
2004 Teach For America corps member.
Karimah Moreland
Dance Teacher

Karimah Moreland is returning for her fifth year as the dance teacher
at Brooke. Previously, she taught at the Shaw Elementary School in
Dorchster. Originally from the Bronx, Ms. Moreland is also a
professional actress in Boston.
Katie Ouellette

Mrs. Ouellette, formerly Katie Duck, returns for her second year as
first grade teacher at EWBCS . Previously, Ms. Duck taught first
grade for five years at the Mystic Valley
Regional Charter School
and served as the first grade lead for two of those years. During her
last year at Mystic Valley, she served as the Professional
Development Coordinator for
kindergarten through third grade.

Caitlin
Porter joined the Brooke community last
year as a first grade teacher, and this year she is teaching third
grade. Ms. Porter previously taught third
grade in
the Bronx in a New York City Public School (C.S. 44).

Asia Price
joined the Brooke family last year as a
second grade associate teacher, and this year she is serving as a

Brooke, Ms. Price attended Harvard’s education school, where she
obtained a
degree in policy and management. Ms.
Price has worked extensively with children through the Science Club for
Girls
and through multiple public service experiences.

Erica Ramberg moved from Texas to join

our kindergarten associate teacher. This
year, she is serving as a kindergarten classroom teacher.

Colin Scott joined

Wendy Soref is joining
the Brooke staff this year
after graduating from the Language and Literacy masters program at
Harvard. Ms. Soref taught for three
years in Arkansas,
teaching a year of second grade and two years of kindergarten. Ms. Soref is a 2004 Teach For America corps
member.

Ms. Steadman returns to EWBCS as the Elementary School Principal.
She joined the Brooke staff in 2004, when she served as a lead teacher,
math teacher, and professional development coordinator. Prior to
joining EWBCS, she worked as a 5th grade teacher for the Chelsea Public
Schools and as a 4th grade teacher in Washington, DC. Ms. Steadman was
a 1997 Teach for America corps member.
Amy Sutter

Amy Sutter is joining
the Brooke family this year
after moving here from Mississippi. Ms. Sutter has spent the last couple years
teaching kindergarten and third grade. Ms.
Sutter is also an accomplished flutist. She
was a 2006 Teach For America corps member.
Meghan Thornton

Meghan Thornton
finished her masters in Early
Childhood Education in June of 2006 and joined our kindergarten team as
an
associate teacher that year. This year,
she will be moving from kindergarten to first grade.
Ms. Thornton has worked in classrooms in Manchester, MA,
Lewiston, Maine, and New York City.

Abby Waldman is moving

year. Ms. Waldman has been teaching
third grade for two years in Las
Vegas,
and she also served as the grade level chair. Ms.

Jeffrey Venter

Jeff Venter is returning for his fourth year at EWBCS as the physical
education teacher. Previously, he worked at the Donald McKay School in
Boston. He currently serves as the head football coach for the John D.
O'Bryant School.

Ms. Adamczyk
returns to EWBCS this year as our
Director of Operations. Ms. Adamczyk
began her teaching career in North Carolina, where she taught high
school
math. She joined the Brooke community in
2004 and taught fifth and then eight grade for three years. Last year, Ms. Adamczyk received her Masters
in Education Policy and Management.
Francis Cash
Director of Finance and Technology
B.A., Fordham University
Francis Cash is the Founding Director of Operations at EWBCS. Prior to
coming to EWBCS, he worked as a financial advisor with American
Express. His professional experience also includes a stint as
owner/operator of a bookstore in New York City, and two years as an art
teacher.
Jon Clark
Executive Director
B.A., Oberlin College
Jon Clark is a founder and the first principal at EWBCS. He assumed the
role of Executive Director, overseeing operations of both the middle
and elementary schools during the 2005-2006 school year. Prior to
coming to EWBCS, he was a founding teacher at South Boston Harbor
Academy where he also served as math department chair for four years.
Mr. Clark also taught junior high school math for two years in Belle
Chasse, Louisiana and worked as a researcher for a professor of
International Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rene
DeStefano
Program
Manager

Ms. DeStefano is
joining the EWBCS staff this year as Program Manager. Previously,
Ms. DeStefano worked at The Food and Drug Law Institute in Washington,
D.C. as a program
and conference coordinator. Additionally, Rene has experience as
a swim
instructor, camp counselor, and Big Sister mentor in the Boston
area.
Eun Lee Koh
Director of Development

Eun Lee Koh is returning to EWBCS for her fourth year as development
director. Previously, she was a reporter for The Boston Globe and The
New York Times. She has also worked with Boston middle school students
as a literacy tutor for Tenacity, an after-school tennis and literacy
program.
Sandra Marques
Office Manager
Rindge and Latin School
Ms. Marques returns for her fifth year as office manager. Prior
to coming to EWBCS, she worked as a sales and service representative
for Fleet Bank and as a manager at J. Silver Clothing.
Charles Peters
Facility Manager
Tewksbury High School
Mr. Peters joined the EWBCS staff in 2005 as the building manager,
supporting the building's expansion into a full middle school and the
addition of an elementary school. Prior to coming
to EWBCS, Mr. Peters worked at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton
as its building manager and for the Wingate nursing homes.
