Board Members
Board of Trustees (2008-2009)
The school is governed by a Board of Trustees that brings parental,
community, educational, and professional perspectives to maintaining a
viable and thriving school. Board members meet on the second Tuesday of
designated months, and meetings are open to the public.
Edith J. Alexander
(Roxbury, MA)
Probation Officer,
Massachusetts Trial Court
A graduate of Lincoln University, Edee has been involved in community
activisim for over 20 years in the City of Boston. Prior to
working as an Officer of the Court, she worked as a Faculty researcher
for the Center on Work and Family at Boston Unversity.
Hilary Berkman (Somerville, MA)
Vice President, Finance, Candlewick Press
Hilary brings to the board 18 years of experience in corporate finance.
Prior to taking her position with Candlewick Press, she served in
similar roles for a technology company and for Houghton Mifflin.
Bart W. Bussink (Cambridge, MA)
Principal, various real estate development LLCs
A graduate of Hampshire College and Harvard University, Bart has been
involved in the for-profit and non-profit real estate development
business for the past 20 years.
Kathleen Choi (Newton, MA)
Media Consultant
As a media consultant, Kathy has worked with CNN, CBS, and The
Economist to develop strategies of convergence of Internet, television,
and print media. Prior to working as a media consultant, she worked for
15 years as a Vice President with Bank Boston.
Edward Preston (Winchester, MA)
Independent Consultant
Ted Preston works as an independent consultant
focusing on developing markets, businesses and organization. He
served in senior management positions for an educational travel company
for 8 years and earlier managed educational programs for Summerbridge
Cincinnati and The Community Builders. He graduated from Brown
University and The Harvard Business School.
Jill Reynolds (Roslindale, MA)
Associate Manager, Public Consulting Group, Inc.
Jill has served as the Deputy Education Advisor to the Governor,
Special Assistant to the Executive Office for Administration and
Finance of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and as Internal Auditor
for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. She played a key role in
drafting the landmark School Building Assistance Program reform
legislation.
