“My parents sent me to Brooke because they wanted me to have the very best education possible. It turned out they were right — especially after I met Mr. Scott and Mr. Forrest. Mr. Scott and Mr. Forrest had a big impact on me because they never gave up on me. They spent a lot of time helping me learn the things I was having trouble with, both in academics and in behavior. Mr. Scott and Mr. Forrest sat down and talked with me about my problems and really explained how I could change those things. They motivated me to change who I was as a person because I realized I could really turn things around for myself. Now, I participate a lot in class, I rarely give up when problems are hard, and I’m a much nicer person in class.”

“I love Brooke because I always want to learn as much as I can, and we learn a lot here. My favorite part of the day is reading because it prepares you for life. And I know that Brooke will prepare me for a great college and a great career. I know that by the time I graduate from Brooke in 8th grade I’ll have so much knowledge in my brain that I’ll be prepared for high school. Then, I want to go to a college that has high expectations, like University of Michigan. After that, I want to be something that helps people — maybe a doctor or a principal.”

“It’s important to get a good education because you’re going to need it throughout life. I would like to go to either Harvard or Brown because my teachers have told me great things about both schools. A special thing about Brooke is that our homerooms are named after colleges, so I get to learn new things about college every day. I’ve learned that, to get into a good college, I need to show one hundred and ten percent effort on everything I do. The teachers get us in the habit of doing our best now so we can keep doing our best all the way through our education and jobs.”
